Privacy policy
TimeLine Zones keeps your city list, preferences and saved timeline events on your Mac. The app has no accounts, advertising or built-in analytics.
Information stored on your Mac
The app stores your chosen cities and their time zones, reference city, appearance and time-display settings, onboarding preference, and saved timeline events in its local macOS preferences. Saved events include their title, start and end times, color and, for imported events, a source identifier. The developer does not receive this information from the app.
Optional calendar access
When you choose Import from Calendar, the app requests permission to read calendar events through Apple's EventKit framework. It displays event titles, dates, times and calendar names for the selected date and the following 30 days. Only events you choose to import are saved as local copies for the city timelines. The app does not create, edit or delete events in your original calendars, and it does not keep those copies synchronized with Calendar.
Calendar access is optional. You can create events manually without granting it. On recent macOS versions, the system permission is described as full calendar access because reading existing events requires that permission.
Optional location access
Use My Location requests your location to suggest a reference city. The app uses Apple's Core Location and geocoding services to identify a city and time zone. These system services may communicate with Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy practices. The app does not continuously track your location, does not save raw coordinates, and does not send location data to a developer-operated service. A city selected using this feature can be saved in your city list.
You can choose a city manually instead. Calendar and location permissions can be revoked in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Network access and third parties
City search and time comparisons use data stored in the app and macOS time-zone rules. The optional location feature may need an internet connection for Apple's geocoding services. The app includes no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Apple manages App Store purchases, TestFlight and any diagnostics you choose to share through its services under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Local preferences and saved events remain until you change or remove them, or clear the app's local data. You can remove saved events in Timeline Events and manage your cities and settings in the app. Removing the application file alone may leave macOS preferences behind. Contact support if you need help clearing all local app data. macOS backups may retain copies according to your backup settings.
Support requests and this website
If you email support, you voluntarily provide your email address and the content of your request. Include only information needed to resolve the issue; do not send private calendar details or precise location data. Support correspondence is used to respond to your request and retained only as needed for support and applicable record-keeping obligations.
