Getting started

  1. Use + to search for a city or country and add a city.
  2. Click a city name or its local time to set the reference city.
  3. Move the top timeline, use −1 hour / +1 hour, or choose a date. Now returns to the current time.
  4. Use the events button to create an event or import selected events from Calendar.

Common questions

Why is the large clock different from my Mac's clock?

The large clock follows the reference city and the selected date and time. Check the reference city and press Now. A different city's local time may naturally differ from your Mac's time zone.

How do I sort or rearrange cities?

Drag rows into your preferred order. Click Local Time to sort by time-zone offset; click it again to restore your order.

How do I change the time format or colors?

Open Settings. Choose 24-hour or AM/PM display, daytime hours, a color scheme and optional alternating row colors. The interface follows your preferred macOS app language; restart the app after changing that language.

Why can't I import calendar events?

Grant calendar access when asked, or enable it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars. The importer shows events starting at the selected date and covering the next 30 days. You can create events manually without calendar access.

Will imported events change my calendar?

No. Import creates a local timeline copy. To refresh an imported event after changing it in Calendar, remove its timeline copy and import it again. Only manually created events can be edited directly in TimeLine Zones.

What happens when I close the main window?

The app is intended to remain available from its globe icon in the menu bar. Choose Open TimeLine Zones to show the window. Use Quit to exit the app. If reopening fails, report the app and macOS versions to support.

Does the app need my location?

No. Use My Location is optional and helps select a reference city. You can search for and select a city manually.
